FAQ - Products Module Element Prices
How do you define a fixed price for a customization?
One of the less frequently used options of our product customization app is that it can replace traditional Shopify variants using our Products module.
But when you’re no longer using Shopify’s variant system…
How do you handle different prices?
That’s where custom pricing with hidden price elements comes in.
Add Custom Pricing Without Shopify Variants
Instead of managing dozens of Shopify variant combinations, you can simply attach a price to any element in your customization view. That way, your customers select the customization from the Products module, and the correct price is updated behind the scenes.
This is done using a pricing element that carries the extra cost associated with the variant choice, just like it would be handled in Shopify.
How to Set It Up
Here’s how to create a custom price setup in just a few steps:
1. Activate Custom Pricing
Before adding any extra prices, make sure custom pricing is enabled:
- In the Settings, look for Integration and in there for Custom Pricing.
- Make sure to activate either of the Custom Priced Products options.

2. Add a Price Element
Now open the customization view you want to charge extra in the Product Builder:
- Select or add the relevant preset element in the Product Builder (like the background or just an empty text or image element).
- In the General Element Options panel (on the right), scroll to the Price field.
- Enter the additional amount you want to add to the product price.

3. Test the Price Behavior
Always preview and test your setup:
- Open the product this customization is linked to in your store frontend and check that the price updates accordingly.
- Add the product to your cart to ensure the final pricing reflects your configuration.
Summary
You don’t need complex Shopify variant logic to offer flexible pricing. Just:
- Turn on custom pricing
- Use preset elements to attach extra charges
This keeps your product pages clean, customizable, and easy to manage, all while giving you total control over your pricing model.
